I have created art my whole life as far back as I remember, and started oil painting in 2nd Grade as a Girl Scout project. In college, I majored in art for 3 years, then switched to sciences, achieving my medical technology degree, followed by a long career in health care. I believe that science also links to the creative side of your brain. I continued to paint in oils for many years, before trying some new media. I have also done a few murals, and a lot of commissioned paintings.
My dad was in Japan immediately after World War II. He brought home a silk painting of my mother, created by a Japanese artist. A few years ago I studied watercolor, and then after a trip to visit my son in Japan, I took a silk painting class. The silk colors are so vibrant and beautiful! I love the idea of wearable art, and I wanted to paint scarves to enhance my own clothing. Each work I do is an individual piece of art ā no two are alike, and Iām always discovering new, exciting techniques as I go. I hope you will enjoy the beauty that I see when I create something special. I do custom orders and can do something special for you!
